Für ein zuverlässiges Kurbeln des Motors ist eine ausreichende CCA-Leistung entscheidend. Für eine lange Lebensdauer und beste Sicherheit muss die Batterietechnologie (AGM, EFB, SLI) auf den Energiebedarf des Fahrzeugs abgestimmt sein. Für energieintensive Anwendungen, insbesondere für Hotelfunktionen in Langstrecken-LKWs oder Caravans, ist die Kapazität in Kombination mit der empfohlenen Entladetiefe entscheidend.

Um die Lebensdauer Ihrer Batterie zu verlängern, sollten Sie einige wichtige Maßnahmen ergreifen:
- Kabel abklemmen: Klemmen Sie immer zuerst den Minuspol ab, um Kurzschlüsse zu vermeiden, und klemmen Sie dann den Pluspol ab.
- Prüfen Sie den Zustand der Batterie: Für wartungsfreie Blei-Säure-Batterien sollten Sie einen Fachmann aufsuchen. Bei wartungsfreien Batterien die Entlüftungsrohre reinigen und den Elektrolytstand nicht überprüfen.
- Laden beginnen: Halten Sie die Batterie aufrecht, wenn Sie sie aus dem Fahrzeug ausbauen. Schalten Sie elektrische Verbraucher aus, bevor Sie das Ladegerät anschließen. Schließen Sie zuerst das rote Kabel an den Pluspol und dann das schwarze Kabel an den Minuspol an.
- Stoppen Sie den Ladevorgang: Schalten Sie das Ladegerät aus, wenn es vollständig geladen ist. Trennen Sie die Kabel, beginnend mit dem roten Kabel vom Pluspol, dann das schwarze Kabel vom Minuspol.
