  • Depuis le début du millénaire, la technologie Start-Stop a été introduite dans un nombre croissant de segments et de modèles de véhicules afin de se conformer à des réglementations de plus en plus strictes en matière d'émissions. De nos jours, il n'y a pratiquement plus de véhicules neufs qui sont livrés sans fonction Start-Stop. En d'autres termes, plus le véhicule est récent, plus il a de chances d'être équipé d'un système Start-Stop.

    Si la voiture est équipée d'un capteur de gestion de la batterie, elle dispose d'un système Start-Stop ou au moins d'un système de charge intelligent qui nécessite une technologie de batterie avancée telle que AGM ou EFB

  • Pour une voiture équipée d'un système Start-Stop, les types de batterie recommandés sont la batterie AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) ou la batterie EFB (Enhanced Flooded Battery).

    Si une batterie AGM est déjà installée dans le véhicule, elle doit toujours être remplacée par une autre batterie AGM car le système de gestion de l'énergie du véhicule pourrait surcharger une batterie liquide, ce qui réduirait la durée de vie de la batterie.

  • Bien que les technologies AGM et EFB soient toutes deux utilisées pour les applications Start-Stop, il existe certaines différences dans les performances des technologies. Alors que l'EFB est une batterie liquide améliorée, l'AGM est une batterie spécialement conçue pour les applications exigeantes et capable de supporter tous les types de systèmes Start-Stop et même les xEV.

    Il n'est pas recommandé de passer d'une batterie AGM à une batterie EFB car le système de gestion de l'énergie du véhicule est conçu pour une certaine performance de la batterie. Le passage de l'EFB à l'AGM, en revanche, est toujours possible et conseillé lorsque votre client est confronté à des problèmes de batterie récurrents.
