  • Sedan millennieskiftet har start-stopp-tekniken introducerats i allt fler fordonssegment och modeller för att uppfylla de allt strängare utsläppskraven. Numera finns det knappt några nya fordon som levereras utan start-stopp-funktion. Med andra ord, ju nyare fordonet är, desto mer sannolikt är det att det har automatisk motoravstängning.

    Om bilen är utrustad med en batterihanteringssensor har den ett start-stopp-system eller åtminstone ett smart laddningssystem som kräver avancerad batteriteknik som AGM eller EFB

  • För en bil med start-stopp-system är de rekommenderade batterityperna AGM-batterier (Absorbent Glass Mat) eller EFB-batterier (Enhanced Flooded Battery).

    Om ett AGM-batteri redan är installerat i fordonet måste det alltid bytas ut mot ett annat AGM-batteri eftersom fordonets energihantering kan överbelasta ett EFB-batteri, vilket leder till förkortad batteritid.

  • Även om både AGM- och EFB-teknik används för Start-Stop-applikationer finns det vissa skillnader i teknikernas prestanda. Medan EFB är ett enhanced flooded batteri är AGM ett batteri som är särskilt utformat för krävande tillämpningar och som kan stödja alla typer av start/stopp-system och xEV.

    Nedgradering från AGM till EFB rekommenderas inte eftersom fordonets energihanteringssystem är utformat för en viss batteriprestanda. Att uppgradera från EFB till AGM är å andra sidan alltid möjligt och rekommenderas när din kund har återkommande batteriproblem.
